Hunter-education class offered in Bentonville

— On Aug. 15, the Benton County Chapter of Quail Unlimited will host its annual hunter-education course.

The 10-hour class with start at 8 a.m. No preregistration is required, but sign-in will be at 7:30 a.m.

The class is taught by hunter-education professionals and is open for anyone; however, it is recommended that students be at least 11 years old since all training material is based on a fifth-grade understanding level.

There is no charge for the class. Lunch and soft drinks will be provided.

Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1968, must successfully complete a hunter-education course to hunt in Arkansas.

The exception is anyone under 16 who is in the immediate accompaniment of a licensed adult who is at least 21 years old.

BCQU is 5 1/2 miles west of Bentonville on Arkansas Highway 72.
