Wednesday, August 12, 2009

— U. S. Rep. John Boozman, R-AR, is accepting internship applications for fall 2009 for his Washington, D.C. office and all of his 3rd Congressional District offices, it was announced Thursday.

Besides in Washington, D.C., internships will be available in his northwest Arkansas offices in Lowell, Fort Smith and Harrison.

Interns get the chance to gain firsthand knowledge about how a congressional office serves constituents, interacts with the community and serves as a liaison to Boozman's Washington, D.C. office.

Internships in Congressman Boozman's office are unpaid and candidates chosen for the Washington, D.C. office pay their own travel and living expenses. Interns can arrange to get academic credit for their work, however.

Candidates can log onto the Web site www.boozman. house.com to fill out an application or call the Lowell office at 725-0400 and ask for intern coordinator Kathryn Gough.
