Senator Hendren Says New Annual Legislative Session Will Be Tested

State Senator Kim Hendren, R-Gravette, is taking a hopefor-the-best attitude about how a new provision of the state constitution will serve the state. Hendren was opposed to a 2008proposal,nowenacted,that changed biannual state legislative sessions to annual ones. The new amendment will have state lawmakers working on the state budget early in 2010 and could provide a good test of how well the proposal will work, said Hendren, who opposed annual sessions and campaigned against the idea last year.
