Lion Pride Night Will Be Held This Friday

— Friday night, August 21, is a big night at Gravette High School: It's Pride Night when students and fans kick off the upcoming Lion football season, with recognition for all high school sports.

Festivities start at 5:30 with a $5 hamburger dinner which includes baked beans, potato chips, dessert and a bottle of water, said the Gravette Athletic Boosters Club. Everyone purchasing a meal will have a chance to win an autographed football from the 2008-09 New Orleans Saints.

After the meal the following schedule will begin at 6 p.m.

In the Gym: Junior High and High School Volleyball and Golf.

At the Athletic Field: Junior High and Senior High Cheerleaders, Junior High and Senior High Band and Junior High and Senior High Football.

There is no admission to any of the activities and all persons with Lion Pride are encouraged to attend.

Charter Bus

The Athletic Boosters are organizing a charter bus for the September 18 high school football game at Wellington, Kansas.

Seating is on a first come basis with a cost of $25 per person. Payment is due at time of sign-ups which are available on Pride Night at the concession stand. Sales will continue until the bus is filled.

Approximate time of departure on game day will be noon, with return immediately following the game. Persons under 18 must have parental consent and anyone under the ninth grade level must be accompanied by a parent.

Booster Meeting

The Athletic Boosters announced a club meeting will be held Sunday, September 13, at 3 p.m. at the high school commons. A high school coach will be a guest speaker.

Club memberships will be available from Booster members during Pride Night activities.
