County Fair Board Announces Special Mega Pass Option

— The Benton County Fair Board is working to make sure this year's fair is a memorable one.

Scheduled for Sept. 15 through Sept. 19, the county fair promises to have thrilling carnival rides, fairway munchies and competitions from the agricultural community.

While the official entertainment schedule for the fair is still being finalized, there will be one new component to the fair - a mega pass.

For $50, mega passes can be purchased through the fair board until Sept. 11 and will allow those who have them unlimited access to the fair's activities throughout the week.

"It gets you into the fair grounds each day, plus you can ride all of the mechanical rides for one price," said Mary Wall, manager of the fair.

The decision to have a pass allowing people to come and enjoy the rides each night was an easy one because of the tough economic climate, Wall said.

The mega passes may be purchased at the fair office at the Benton County Fairgrounds, 7640 S.W. Regional Airport Blvd.

Mega passes will also be available when the fair hosts a booth at First Friday on the Bentonville Square on Sept. 4 and additional fair information will be available, Wall said.

The official fair a is expected to be finalized early next week, she said.
