Little Debbie Store reopens remodeled, bigger and better

— The Little Debbie store in Gentry is open again after a brief closing for remodeling purposes.

After a big clearance sale and crowds of people on Aug. 16, the Little Debbie Store in Gentry was closed for a week to be remodeled. Customers were directed to the Tontitown store if they need items from an outlet store during that time.

While quiet on the outside, a major remodel was occurring inside, according to Melissa Smith, spokesperson for McKee Foods in Gentry. The store got new fixtures and expanded its retail floor space, she said.

And the store reopened again on Sunday, with even more space for products.

Store hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

on Sundays. The store is closed on Saturdays.

A rumor was also circulated concerning closing of the McKee Foods Gentry plant, but that couldn't be further from the truth, according to Mike Gloekler, corporate communications and public relations officer for McKee Foods.

A plant in Chattanooga which made mini-donuts was closed and a part of that production work was transferred to the Gentry plant, Gloekler said in a telephone interview last week.

There are no plans to close the Gentry plant - it continues to expand its production - and the Little Debbie Store was closed for only a week so that it could be remodeled.
