Maysville News

— We are sure having nice August weather, a good rain and the temperature as low as it is. I'm sure we will have more hot weather but I'm enjoying this like we are having.

Maysville E. H. Club members, remember this Thursday is our full day of the month. We're not sure yet where we are going to eat and then which museum we will tour. There will be some phone calls to let each one know what time we will meet and where to eat and then go to a museum.

Orpha Wardlaw is home after spending some day sin Tulsa, OK, with Steve and Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher and children Selena and Zack. They will probably start back to school this week.

My brother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, OK, came over Monday morning and got me. We went to visit our brother Vernon Vandiver and wife JAnis in Bentonville. Our sister Marie Crawford and husband Jim of Decatur and our sister Frances Sims of Bentonville met us there. We all enjoyed the time together and our lunch also. Vernon is showingimprovement after such a long hospital stay. He can get out to go a short time as long as someone else drives him. It is good to see the improvement he has made.

Sylvia Tucker came up Friday afternoon and visited me. We had a good visit. I always enjoy her coming up.

My great-granddaughter, Skyler Warren, came to see me a while Saturday afternoon. It was her birthday. She brought a laptop computer to show me, a gift she was proud of.

Jeff Rick of Siloam Springs, AR, visited his friends, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one day this week. They had a good visit.

Jewel Lukens' cousin, Fern Englert Collins of Grove, OK, passed away August 16. She grew up in Beaty community and had many relatives and friends in this community. She was related to Louise (Kelly) Evans of Gravette. Funeral services were held August 19 in Grove, OK. Sympathy is extended to the family.

My sister, Frances Sims of Bentonville, came out to visit me later in the afternoon and ate supper with me. I sure enjoyed her visit.
