— Christopher Cary Asencio

Christopher Cary Asencio, 52, of San Antonio, Texas, died Nov. 22, 2009, at his home.

Born June 7, 1957, in Pampa, Texas, he was the son of Ramon Asencio and Irene Luedecke Asencio. He was a graduate of Galesburg High School, in Galesburg, Ill., and worked as an engineer for the telecommunications industry. He lived and worked in the Gentry area for 16 years prior to moving to Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include two sons, Steven Asencio and wife Desiree of Springdale, Aaron Asencio and wife Nicole of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Shelley Asencio of Springdale; his mother, Irene Luedecke Weldon of Gentry; four grandchildren; six brothers, Jerry Asencio of San Antonio, Texas, David Asencio of Gentry, Arkansas, Michael Asencio of Celina, Texas, PaulAsencio of Springdale, Arkansas, Larry Mark Asencio of San Antonio, and Tony Asencio of Galesburg; six sisters, Marie Brown of Siloam Springs, Debra Still-Smith of Lowell, Kaye Cripps of Gentry, Diana Furlan of Schaumburg, Ill., Beth Sholl of Galesburg, and Vicky Clark of Nokomis, Fla.

Funeral services were Nov. 28 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Paul Jeffus and Keith Harper officiating. Burial followed at Springtown Cemetery in Springtown. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Clara Mae Caspari

Clara Mae Caspari, 91, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 22, 2009, at Culpepper Place in Springdale.

She was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Pratt, Kan., to Bill and Clara Bergner. She attended college in Emporia, Kan., and served as a pink lady with the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Richard Caspari and wife, Helen, of Wichita, Kan.; a sister; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were Nov. 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Shelley Rae Fitts-Haeberle

Shelley Rae Fitts-Haeberle, 44, died Nov. 22, 2009, in Bentonville.

She was born Oct. 25, 1965, in Stilwell, Okla., to Clyde and Elsie Parrott Fitts. She was preceded in death by her father; and a son, Kyle Haeberle.

She is survived by a daughter Samantha Haeberle of Rogers, and Joshua Haeberle of Kansas, Okla.; her mother of Westville, Okla., four grandchildren; siblings Leonard Fitts of Sallisaw, Okla., Bill Fitts of Westville, Marilyn Doyle of Christie, Okla., Sharon Van-Devender of Westville, Kenny Fitts of Westville, Jimmy “Corny” Fitts of Watts, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Angela Thorarensen of Colcord, Okla., and Jessica Thorarensen of Kansas; a stepson, Jimmy Thorarensen of Siloam Springs; and a step grandchild.

Memorial services were held Nov. 28, 2009, at Westville City Cemetery and Old Baptist Mission Cemetery in Westville.

Roberts Reed Culver Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

Betty Lee Hubbard

Betty Lee Hubbard, 85, of Rogers, Ark., died Nov. 30, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers.

She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Delaware County, Okla., to Frank and Mabel Parker Witcher. She retired from Emerson Electric Company where she was motor tester and worked in uni-bearings. She married Fred Hubbard in Bentonville, Ark., on Sept. 12, 1942, and was a member of Pentecostal Church in Springtown, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Roy Calvin Hubbard; a granddaughter, Mary Hubbard; four brothers, J.D. Witcher, George Witcher, Burlin Witcher and Larry Witcher.

She is survived by six sons, Bob Hubbard and wife Wilma of Decatur, Bill Hubbard and wife Susan of Bentonville, Steven Hubbard and wife Bonnie of Rogers, Frank Hubbard and wife Veronica of Gravette, Jerry Hubbard and wife Myrna of Centerton, and Fred Hubbard Jr., of Gentry; a daughter, Sharon Hency and husband John of Walton, Kan.; 23 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Vernon Witcher and wife Carlene of Roseburg, Ore., Eli Witcher of Gravette, and Loren Witcher of Bentonville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 4, 2009, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., with Sherman Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow at Coffelt Cemetery near Vaughn. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3, 2009, at Wasson Funeral Home. Wasson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.

Roberta Lea Janes

Roberta Lea Janes, 68, of Gentry, died Nov. 25, 2009, at her home.

Born June 10, 1941, in Fairland, Okla., she was the daughter of Oren Thomason and Opal Jones Thomason. She retired from Franklin Electric. She was a member of New Praise Gospel Outreach, Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Arthur Janes. Survivors includetwo sons, Bruce Witte of Gentry and Robert Witte of Farmington, New Mexico; three daughters, Brenda West of Gentry, Rebecca Elliott and Ashley Janes, both of Siloam Springs; two brothers, Art Essex of West Siloam Springs, Okla., and James Essex of Miami, Okla.; two sisters, Shirley Tockey and Nina Johnson, both of Cleveland, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 28, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Mike Greenwood officiating. Burial followed at Fairmount Cemetery, near Gentry. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Frances Maude Keenom

Frances Maude Keenom, 84, of Gentry, died Nov. 25, 2009, at her home.

Born Dec. 10, 1924 in Alta Vista, Kan., she was the daughter of Charles Rogers and Zella Church Rogers. She moved to the area in 1959 from Amarillo, Texas, and was owner/operator of the Buy-Rite Hardware in Decatur. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Alvin Furrow and Thurman Keenom, five brothers, three sisters, and her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Furrow and wife Kimberly of Clovis, Calif., and Jamie Keenom of Gentry; one daughter, Trish Smith of Gentry; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Wallace of Manhattan, Kan.; and one brother, Wayne Rogers of Junction City, Kan.

Funeral services were Nov. 28, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Siloam Springs, with Father Salvador officiating. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery, near Decatur.

Arrangements were byWasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Tresa Madden

Tresa Mae Madden, 68, ofGravette, died Nov. 25, 2009, at Ozark Community Hospital, Gravette.

Born June 5, 1941, in Leach, Okla., she was the daughter of Forrest James and Bessie Louise Harrison James. She was a homemaker and lived in Siloam Springs for 22 years prior to moving to Gravette.

Survivors include one son, Kelly Madden of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Lisa Brooks of Gravette; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were Nov. 29, at the home of Lisa Brook’s at 1201 Dallas Street, SW, Gravette.

Arrangements were byWasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Luney Cleveland Pack

Luney Cleveland Pack, 66, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 21, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Pea Vine, Okla., to Sherman and Flora Thomas Cooper. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include three sons, Jody Pack of Westville, Okla., Jerry Pack of Gentry and Mark Pack of Siloam Springs; three daughters, Lee Ann Sawyers of Shattuck, Okla., Ronda Cannon of Watts, Okla., and Sheila Dolen of Perkins, Okla.; two brothers, Oscar Thomas and Jerry Thomas, both of Siloam Springs; two sisters, including Nellie Dozier of Siloam Springs; 21 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 25 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Michael John Sbanotto

Michael John Sbanotto, 35, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 28, 2009, at his home.

He was born July 8, 1974 in Little Rock to Pete and Elaine Mussino Sbanotto. He married Angeline Kellett on April 27, 2006, in Harrison. He was employed as a shuttle driver for Allen’s Canning Co., in Siloam Springs. He liked the outdoors, fishing and hunting and liked telling stories.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Harry Sbanotto and Joseph Mussino.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Chloe Sbanotto and Lily Sbanotto of the home; his parents of Siloam Springs; a brother, Stephen Sbanotto of Siloam Springs; paternal grandmother Dorothy Sbanotto of Tontitown; and maternal grandmother Goldie Mussino of Siloam Springs.

A rosary service was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tontitown on on Dec. 1, 2009. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Dec. 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Joseph Marconi will officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donantion may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home for his children.

Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Debora S. Zimmerman

Debora S. Zimmerman, 54, of Bentonville, died Nov. 23, 2009, in Bentonville.

She was born March 6, 1955, in Noel, Mo., to Orvil Spence and Hazel Bryson Hucklebee. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; a son, Jeff Philpot of Colcord, Okla.; two daughters, Michelle Brown and Christy Zimmerman, both of Bentonville; her father, Orvil Spence of Colcord; two brothers; two sisters, including Debora Spence of Bentonville; and six grandchildren.

No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.
