— Edmondson Marguerite

Marguerite Minerva Edmondson, 93, of Jay, OK, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Grove (OK) Nursing Center. She was born December 7, 1921, in Southwest City, MO, the daughter of George and Missouri Parks Lauderdale.

She was a member of the Delaware County Historical Society, the Razorback Club, the Home Demonstration Club and Maysville Bible Church. She was the wife of James Edmondson, who was the son of the founder of the Bank of Gravett. He passed away in 1982. She lived on the family farm which was started in 1837. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Ann Edmondson.

Survivors include one son, Jim Edmondson and wife Minerva of Jay; five grandchildren, Sharron Edmondson, Terry Rogers and wife Robin, Lee Bryan, Dale Bryan and wife Claudia and Toby Crowley and wife Lisa; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held November 27 at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Edmondson Family Cemetery with Rev. Dan Newton officiating.

Donations may be made to the Delaware County Historical Society.

Tresa Madden

Tresa Mae Madden, 68, of Gravette, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. She was born June 5, 1941, in Leach, OK, the daughter of Forrest and Bessie Louise Harrison James.

Mrs. Madden was a homemaker. She had lived in Siloam Springs before moving to Gravette.

Survivors include one son, Kelly Madden of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Lisa Brooks of Gravette; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home of Lisa Brooks, 1201 Dallas St., in Gravette.

Wasson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Effie Harris

Effie C. Harris, 96, of Gravette, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Highland Health Care in Bella Vista. She was born September 28, 1913, in Southwest City, MO, the daughter of John and Adeline Locke Pritchard.

Mrs. Harris was raised and educated in Southwest City. She married Berl L. Harris in 1938 in Beaty, AR. They farmed in the Gravette area. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Maysville and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Bobby Gene Harris; a grandson, Lonnie Harris; a brother, A. J. Pritchard; and sisters Hazel Shobe, Winnie Parish, Ola Pritchard and Dorothy Lou Worthen.

Survivors include two sons, Dick Harris of Gravette and Berl Dean Harris and wife Mary of Gravette; 14 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 28, at Maysville Missionary Baptist Church with Raymond Scott officiating. Burial was at Lee Cemetery under direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Betty Hubbard

Betty Lee Hubbard, 85, of Rogers, died November 30, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Rogers. She was born August 15, 1924, in Delaware County, OK, the daughter of Frank and Mabel Parker Witcher. She retired from Emerson Electric Company where she was motor tester and worked in unibearings. She married Fred Hubbard in Bentonville September 12, 2942, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Springtown.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Roy Calvin Hubbard.

Survivors include six sons, Bob Hubbard and wife Wilma of Decatur, Bill Hubbard and wife Susan of Bentonville, Steven Hubbard and wife Bonnie of Rogers, Frank Hubbard and wife Veronica of Gravette, Jerry Hubbard and wife Myrna of Centerton and Fred Hubbard, Jr. of Gentry; one daughter, Sharon Hency and husband John of Walton, KS; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three brothers, Vernon Witcher or Roseburg, OR, Eli Witcher of Gravette and Loren Witcher of Bentonville.

Visitation will be December 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Services will be December 4 at 10 a.m. at Wassons with Sherman Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Coffelt Cemetery near Vaughn.
