— The weather seems to be changing. It was cold Sunday with a rain mist falling. Guess we can expect this. It is the end of November so the winter months are coming.

Berti Ray visited in the home of Jewel Lukens Friday morning.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Missionary Baptist Church in Maysville for Effie Harris. Burial was in Lee Cemetery on Beaty Road. Sympathy is extended to the family.

The Dean Austin family had their Thanksgiving dinner at the Maysville community building on Friday.

Orpha Wardlaw spent Thanksgiving in Tulsa, OK, with family m embers, Steve and Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher, Selena and Zack. Other family members were there also.

Those having Thanksgiving dinner in the home of Jack and Sylvia Tucker were Les and Jean Martindale, Sammie Sappington of Fayetteville and Patti King of Lowell. They report a good meal and visits.

Those having Thanksgiving dinner in my home were Matt and Karla Ballmann and Jacob, Brad Tucker, Katie Tucker, Tyler and Katelynn. Gary and Helen Chism were here for a while. They had dinner with Byron and Tracy Warren and Skyler. Julie Cookand Billy were here at my home also. We had a good dinner and visiting.

Thanksgiving Day was my birthday. I had phone calls from South Carolina,Michigan, Indiana, Oklahoma and several from different towns in Arkansas. I had a good birthday and don’t really feel older yet.

Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed in the home of Billy and Violet Lovell on Thursday. Several family members were there.

Maysville E. H. Club members, our Christmas dinner and party will be held in the home of Bert Ballmann on December 10. Bert and Melinda Crawley are the hostesses. Bring a $10 gift for gift exchange. They will be numbered and we will draw numbers to see which one we get.Also bring a wrapped gift for a game. If anyone has a poem or reading for the program that will be fine.

There was a wedding at the Maysville Community Center on Saturday afternoon. Jennifer Tucker wed Jeff Mitchell, son of Bill and Cindy Mitchell. Jennifer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tucker of Decatur and the granddaughter of the late Paul and Belle Tucker. Congratulations to this couple.

Nanete Lovell fixed supper Saturday evening in her and Julian’s home for Nanete’s father and other relatives.

Virginia (Tucker) Rowland visited me recently. She is getting some pictures and history on the late C. K. and Nora Tucker on their fiftieth wedding anniversary in October of 1949. She is really working at it and getting new information.
