FFA Booster Club Elects Officers For The Year

— A meeting of the FFA Booster Club was held Tuesday, November 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gravette High School Agriculture Department. Nine members were present.

During the meeting officers were installed. It was decided that positions for president, vice-president and secretary/reporter needed to be filled. Nominations were made, accepted and voted on bymembers present.

Officers are President, Dale Denver; Vice-President, Frank Sims; Secretary/Reporter, Diane Graham and Treasurer, Bob Moore.

A report was given on fund raising that is already in progress. A goal was set to begin another fundraiser after the first of the year. Members voted to use funds raised this year to provide scholarships for FFAmembers in the Gravette Chapter.

We are initiating a membership drive, $10 individual and $15 family. Please call 479-291-4649 if you are interested in joining. You need not have a past FFA membership to join, just a desire to support your local FFA chapter.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 12, at 6:30 in the high school Agriculture Department.

A pancake breakfast with Santa and a Children’s Shopping Bazaar will be held Saturday, December 12, at the Benton County Fairground Expo Center, said Miriam Rowe, spokesperson for the Fairgrounds.

The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at theExhibit Building of the Fairgrounds located in Vaughn. The breakfast cost is $5.

Shopping at a flea market type setting for children will enable them to purchase gifts for family members and friends. Most items will be $1 or less, Rowe said.

She added that “4-H elveswill be on hand to help young ones select and wrap gifts.” Parents may bring cameras to take pictures of their children with Santa.

Tickets for the breakfast may be purchased in advance by calling Rowe, 787-5032, or they may be purchased at the door.
