— The weather seems like winter for a few days and it will probably stay that way for a while. After all it is December. We are about ready to start a new year.

Maysville E. H. Club members, this Thursday is our Christmas party in the home of Bert Ballmann. Bring a $10 gift for gift exchange and a wrapped one dollar gift for the game. It will be a potluck at noon. See you all there.

The county 4-H clubs had their cookie exchange in Bentonville on Thursday evening. Several Maysville 4-H Club members took part in it. I do not have the names or awards for them.

Orpha Wardlaw spent last week in Little Rock. It was an Eastern Star meeting and I’m sure she visited her daughter Christi who lives in Little Rock.

We had a guest speaker this Sunday at the Maysville Bible Church, Jim Whisenant. He was a former pastor at the Christian Church in Gentry. We had a good service. The attendance was good for such a cold morning. Hope you will all come back and bring someone with you. Our former pastor, Brian Stigall, had resigned.

Another church had called him. Jim worked at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home here in Gravette for several years. We enjoyed his singing and also his sermon.

Katie Martin and Katelynn came by for a few minutes on Monday evening of this week.

Sylvia Tucker visited me on Monday afternoon. We had a good visit. She was in Gravette so she said she thought she would come by. I’m always glad she does.

Saturday evening Steve and Susan Tucker came after Lowess Jasper and me and took us to the First Baptist Church Christmas program in Bentonville. It was really good. There had been a lot of practice and work put in it. There were some Gravette people who attended and we saw some people fromDecatur there, including Richard Foreman his wife and daughter. Also attending were Virginia ( Tucker) Rowland and my nephew, Clarence Vandiver. He was in the cast so didn’t get to visit with him. Anyway Lowess and I sure did enjoy it and were glad they came after us.
