Senior Center Report

— Congratulations to Tammy Bass! Tammy won the beautiful handmade Gravette Lions afghan that was crocheted and donated by Sue Rice. We would like to thank everyone who purchased raffle tickets and a special thank you to those who took the time to help sell them. You all made this fundraiser a big success.

There are many homebound seniors who receive Meals on Wheels. Many of these seniors must juggle their bills in order to pay for medications, putting food at the bottom of their priority list.You can help homebound seniors by donating to our Feed a Homebound Senior program. $3 can feed a homebound senior for one day through the Meals on Wheels Program. Please mail your check to Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center, P. O. Box 1648, Gravette, AR 72736 with the number of meals and the following information: Your name, address, city, state and zip code. For info call the Center, 787-5950.

MENU Week of Dec. 14 - 18 Lunch

Monday: Baked fish, black-eye peas, tangy coleslaw, wheat bread, rosy applesauce.

Tuesday: Beef pot roast, roasted potatoes, carrots, dinner roll, spice cake.

Wednesday: Hawaiian chicken, fluffy white rice, snow peas, wheat bread, emerald pears.

Thursday: Beef & mac casserole, green beans, tossed green salad, wheat bread, oatmeal cookie.

Friday: Christmas lunch: Honey glazed ham, baked sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, Jell-O salad, pistachio cake.

Meals are subject to change. Meals at Center served with choice of 2% milk, buttermilk, coffee, tea or orange juice. Diabetic desserts are available.

Births

Eric and Sabra Bird of Gravette are parents of a 7 pound, 4 ounce daughter, Kayleigh, born October 16, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

Grandparents are Nina Pilkington of Gravette, David Heaton of Centerton and David and Debbie Elkins of Anderson, MO. Great-grandmothers are Lois Heaton and Myrtle Overholser, both of Gravette.
