— Charles Sandlin

Charles K. Sandlin, 67, of Bentonville, died Monday, December 7, 2009, in Fayetteville. He was born December 14, 1941, in Hiwasse, the son of Edward and Daisy Thomas Sandlin.

Mr. Sandlin was an Army veteran and a retired tool grinder for Rogers Tool Works. He was a member of Bentonville Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Mitchael.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene; two sons, Charles A. Sandlin and wife Sandra of Royal, AR, and Jason Sandlin and wife Terri of Rogers; one daughter, Patricia Sandlin Burns of Bentonville; three brothers, Edward Sandlin, Jack Sandlin and Johnny Sandlin, all of Bentonville; four sisters, Joann Lowe of Hiwasse, Brenda Whitesideof Bentonville, Connie Rial of Tupelo, MS, and Vicki Stern of Palo Alto, CA; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Thursday, December 10, at the Bentonville Church of Christ with Walton Hook and William Spurlock officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Children’s Home, 100 West Harding St., Morrilton, AR 72110.

Betty Payne

Betty Jo Payne, 73, of Decatur, died December 8, 2009, at Highlands Nursing Center. She was born April 4, 1936, in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Elijah and Zada Jefferson Preecs.

Mrs. Payne operated Betty’s Flower Shop in Decatur many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Buster” Payne.

Survivors include her children, Stephen Payne of Decatur, John Payne and wife Diane of Rogers, Sue Howard and husband Ray of Decatur, Donna Pennington of Springdale; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Chapel in Decatur.

Cremation arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
