— We extend sympathy to the Sandlin family. Charles grew up in Hiwasse and attended school in Hiwasse and Gravette.

Word has been received her that former Hiwasse resident Bill McMillian had passed away and will be brought to Mt. Pleasant for burial. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Joan Lowe is home recovering from her back surgery. She is still in quite a bit of pain and needs our prayers.

Maxine Holloway is spending a few days with her daughter, Carolyn Taylor, and family in Garfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Gabe Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier and I had lunch with DaleLynn and Lamarise Carrier on Sunday.

Karen Burns and JaniceSpaldin made a shopping trip to Rogers this week where they found a shop that still sells material and embroidery thread.

There was a meeting of the HVFD on Tuesday night. The need of some new uniforms was talked over. They cost right at $1,400 each now. That doesn’t include boots or helmets.

On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton and Johnny Wayne Fletcher took their dad, Dean Fletcher, to Catfish John’s to celebrate his birthday.

Jake Carver has celebrated a birthday this week too.
