Choirs join, perform Christmas musical

— Four Gentry Middle School choirs combined to present three performances of the musical “Norh Pole Star” Dec. 8.

The musical was a take-off of the popular show “American Idol,” where Santa’s eight reindeer competed for the North Pole Star trophy.

Students prepared special costumes, dances and worked on acting for special parts. The choir performed for the primary and intermediate schools at 9 a.m., for the middle and high schools at 1 p.m., and then put on a public performance at 7 p.m.

“The show was delightful, a big hit and got everyone in the Holiday Spirit,” said Gentry choir director Trella Yates.

Students with lead roles were: Santa Claus - Chance Silvey; Mrs. Claus - Hannah Douglas; Carol Dio Guaardia - Cassidy Ponder; Steven Cruells - Dakota Taylor; Snowcrest - Kaci Starkey; Announcer - Daylin Eckart; Dasher - Lexie Clark; Prancer - Lindsey Holt; Dancer - Mallory Morris; Vixen - Kristsen Flesner; Comet - Krystin Cox; Cupid - Katie Howard; Donner - Shelby Allen; Blitzen - Kyla Riggs; Rudolph - Faith Harvey.
