Council adopts 2010 budget

DECATUR — City council members adopted the 2010 budget at the Dec. 14 meeting.

The budget allows for $699,200 of expenditures in the city’s general fund, up from $655,693 in 2009. The streets’ budget is $92,000, down from $109,900 last year. The water department budget is $3.096 million compared to $3.267 million in 2009. Included in the budget was a 5 percent pay raise for city employees.
