— Students at Gravette High School recently were exposed to what adult life is all about in relation to careers, etc., during Career Day, an event organized by Bob Johnson.

Johnson, who is marketing/business teacher at GHS, said more than 20 speakers representing businesses, professions and military organizations were present for the fourhour event.

Twelve student areas were arranged and students at each area were able to hear presentations by at least seven different speakers.

During their presentations, the representatives, using power point videos and handouts as well as through personal discussions were able to provide specific information and answer questions relating to their particular fields.

Each speaker was escorted between groups by two students who were selected by teachers from student organizations.

Personal presentations were held during the morning and following lunch a video relating to current and future trends in the global and domestic economy was shown.

“It was very eye opening for the students,” Johnson said. Tiphany Hall, recruitment/instructor at Northwest Arkansas Community College, then discussed NWACC and provided information about financial aid and scholarships.
