— Bella Vista Kiwanis Club will meet Thursday, November 5, at 7 a.m. at the Bella Vista Country Club where breakfast is off the menu and is Dutch treat.

The Bella Vista American Legion Post will meet that evening at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kingsland Road and U. S. 71.

The program topic at both meetings is a proposed Bella Vista Sales Tax. Persons interested in the subject or hearing about the Kiwanis or Legion are invited to attend.

Church of Christ Will Serve Community Thanksgiving Dinner On November 21NWACC Students Performance Dates Are Announced

The Department of Performing Arts at Northwest Arkansas Community College will present the “Flying Tomato Cabaret” November 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15.

The dinner show begins at 7 p.m. each evening in NWACC’s Shewmaker Center and will feature a spaghetti dinner served by the NWACC Chamber Singers. They will also provide entertainment which will include Broadway’s popular songs. The fundraiser helps finance the Singers spring concert tour and will include a trip to Europe next May.

Tickets are $15 and are available in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Call 479-619-4261 for info or reservations.

Local Student Inducted Into Honor Society At NEO College

Catherine Conolloy, of Gravette, has been inducted into the National Honor Society at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami. Dr. Tim Faltyn, vice-president of academic affairs, was speaker at the induction ceremony for the Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

Connolly is a sophomore agriculture major at NEO.

Girl Scout Troop Thanksgiving Food Drive Is Scheduled

Gravette Girl Scout Troop 5497 is sponsoring a Thanksgiving food collection drive to supply the Care and Share Thanksgiving food boxes with canned foods.

The remainder of the food will be donated to the Feed My Sheep Food Pantry in Gravette.

Scout leaders Meredith Bramel and Nancy Jones said, “We will appreciate any canned or boxed nonperishable food items.

Drop boxes will be located at the First Christian Church and at the Gravette Medical Clinic from now until November 20.”

The Girl Scouts will also set up a collection point at Marvin’s on Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m. until noon to collect donations.

Elkins Holds Ceremony To Construct New Library

Groundbreaking was held recently in Elkins for a new library for that city. The present 1,000 square foot building will be replaced with a 4,000 square foot facility to hold books, materials and computers.

Volunteers last year raised almost $60,000 to help with the $459,373 project. The library is adjacent the Elkins elementary school.

Donivan Church Sets Service This Saturday

The monthly service at Donivan Church will be held this Saturday, November 7, at 7 p.m. Darrin Robbins of Seneca, MO, will be the speaker.

The church is located on Highlands Boulevard. Turn north on Hiwasse Road to Highlands, turn on Highlands and go three miles. For information contact Sharon Herrington, 787-6821.

Gravette Church of Christ will serve a Thanksgiving dinner for the community on Saturday, November 21, at the church, located at 202 Irving Street S.W.

“Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and a time to share and we would love to share with you in a traditional Thanksgiving dinner,” the church said. “Holidays are a time of joy.
