— Leonard L. Hilterbrand

Leonard L. Hilterbrand, 90, of Grove, Okla., formerly of Gravette, died Oct. 28, 2009, at the Grove General Hospital in Grove. He was born June 9, 1919, in Kansas to James Hilterbrand and Maude King Hilterbrand.

He grew up in Collinsville, Okla. For several years he owned and operated a large dairy farm in Sand Springs, Okla. He married Imogene Rust July 7, 1989. They resided in Claremore, Okla., before moving to Grove in 2004. He was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church in Sand Springs. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid collector of western art.

He was preceded in death by four siblings.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Kathleen Ebel of Nebraska; five stepchildren; and several grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were Oct. 31at the Noel Cemetery in Noel, Mo., with Lonnie Sanders officiating.

Johnnie January, 92, died Oct. 25, 2009, at his home in Yucca Valley, Calif.

He was born Nov. 22, 1916, near Colcord, Okla., to Henry and Uma January.

Local arrangements are pending and will be announced by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Leota Margaret Silcox

Leota Margaret Silcox, 98, of Colcord, Okla., died Oct. 29, 2009, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab in Siloam Springs.

Shewas born Oct. 8, 1911, in Pawhuska, Okla., to Andrew Jackson Cochran and Mary Alice Powell Cochran. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Colcord. She married Bruce Silcox July 20, 1929, in Jay, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Jimmy Silcox, Beryle Silcox and Ralph Silcox; two daughters, Wanda Christy and Rita Mae Nolan; four brothers, George Cochran, Harold Cochran, Franklin Cochran and J.C. Cochran; and two sisters, Eliza Ford and Fannie Wadley.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman Silcox and Edith Silcox of Blackwell, Okla., Sherman Silcox of Watts, Okla., and Roger Silcox of Kansas, Okla.; a brother, Darwin Cochran of Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Virginia Brown Petko of Central Point, Ore.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild;

Funeral services were Nov. 2 at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with Jack Hayes officiating. Burial followed at Row Cemetery, near Colcord.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Mary Van Horn

MaryVan Horn, 84, of Gravette, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in Gravette.

She was born Feb. 22, 1925, in Garnett, Kan., to Webb Kelley and Eda Boyd Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Van Horn; a son, Bobby Van Horn; a granddaughter, Tamara Blevins; a grandson, Danny Hamman; and two sisters.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Van Horn and Paula Van Horn of Gravette; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Bradley of Jay, Okla., Nancy Payne and Donald Payne of Bentonville, Ark., Eydie Hamman of Prairie Village, Kan., and Billie Barker and Bob Barker of Fayetteville, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Oct. 29 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, with John Powell officiating.

Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Gravette.

William Edward “Bill” Young

William Edward “Bill” Young, 75, of Gentry, died Oct. 27, 2009, at his home.

He was born April 10, 1934, in Vian, Okla., to Albert Clifton Young, Sr., and Ethel Evelyn Courtney Young.

He was a self employed plumber and home builder. He married Wanda Sue Hefton Jan. 23, 1956, in Sallisaw, Okla. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Springtown.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Lou Kvidera and Judy Ann McHenry.

Survivors include his wife; a sister-in-law, Niva Nell of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Ann Willoughby and Jimmy Dale Willoughby of Gentry, and Ethel Onie Irvine and David John Irvine of Grove, Okla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Edward Young and Dona Young, and Hefton Wayne Young and Janie Young, all of Gentry; three brothers, Thomas Joseph Young and David Wayne Young, both of Vian, and Albert Clifton Young, Jr., of Bunker Hill, W.Va.;13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held a 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Paul Vunileva officiating.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
