Parents invited to take survey

— Parents of Gentry students have been asked to participate in an online survey to gain insight into parents involvement in the schools and the education of their children.

The survey at the Gentry Public School District Web site, www.gentrypioneers.com, was prepared by school superintendent Dr. Randy Barrett and can be taken anonymously in less than 20 minutes, the Web site says.

“The purpose of this survey is to gather information about what you, a parent and / or patron of our school district, think about your level of involvement in our school system,” the introduction to the survey states.

“The first series of questions asks personal questions about you. Do not be alarmed or hesitant to answer, because this is an anonymous survey and you cannot be identified unless you choose to be. The personal information is asked so that we can determine the status of you, the respondent. Knowing things about you, even though we will not know who you are, may help us to better understand your answers.

“The survey is short. You can complete it in less than 20 minutes. Many of the questions can be answered with one click of your mouse. Many will offer you a chance to enter short answers. You can skip answering any question except the very first.”

The survey will end at midnight, Nov. 15.
