— We sure got the rain Sunday. It rained hard all afternoon. Guess it won’t hurt anything. Suppose to be a cold front moving in.

Juanda Prelle is improving rapidly from her broken leg. She is looking forward to coming home from the rehab treatments.

Mattie and Bodie Smith helped their grandma, Violet Lovell, clean house on Saturday. That was nice of you both to do that for her.

Eula Evans went back Friday for a checkup on her heart. They didn’t find any problems with her heart but she has to go back for some other checkups. Her granddaughter, Katy Evans, has been in the hospital in Tulsa but she is home and doingbetter. That is good news.

This Saturday evening, Nov. 21, is the community Thanksgiving dinner. The club prepares the ham, turkey and dressing, bread, mashed potatoesand drinks. Everyone is invited. Just bring a dish of your choice, come and enjoy the fellowship with friends.

My brother and wife, Vernon and Janis Vandiver of Bentonville, and sister, Frances Sims of Bentonville, Sylvia Tucker and I met our brother, Jim Vandiver, of Broken Arrow, OK; a friend, Shirley Polstin of Tulsa, OK; Jim and Marie Crawford of Decatur at the Country Cottage in Locust Grove Friday evening. It is open, buffet and all, and we like it. We ate there and enjoyed the evening.

Maysville E. H. members, remember this Thursday is club day. It is only an afternoon business meeting at 1 p.m. with no hostess.We will complete plans for the dinner on Thursday evening. Orpha Wardlaw will give a cultural art and anyone can give a helpful hint. Gwen Singleton has the lesson.

Maysville 4-H Club Meeting Report

The November meeting of the Maysville 4-H was called to order by vice president Kate Stidham. The roll was called by assistant secretary Casey Ogle. The pledges were led by Casey Ogle and Lacy Barrett. The song was also led by Lacy, “The Turkey Song”.

Special reports were given by Paige Barrett on the Arkansas State Fair, Casey Ogle on County Officer Training, Lacy on the Kansas City Royal and County Achievement Banquet and Tabitha Crawley on the Corn Maze.

Project reports were given by CJ Ogle, Lacy, Christina Lovell and Tabitha.

For business we discussed the upcoming EH community Thanksgiving dinner, the County Cookie Exchange, Christmas community service and our activities for our December meeting. We will meet early for the December meeting. Nathania Mckinsey and Linda Oliphant were our guests for the evening.
