Senior Center Report

— There is still time to donate to our “You CAN Make a Difference” fundraiser. Donations of nonperishable food can be dropped off at the Senior Center located at 1870 Limekiln Road, Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items will be placed in a grocery basket. Tickets are available for a $1 donation or six for $5. A lucky person will receive the contents of the basket when the drawing is held onThursday, November 19, at 11:30 a.m. during the Thanksgiving luncheon at the Center.

Tickets are still available for the beautiful hand-crocheted “Gravette Lions Afghan” made and donated by Sue Rice. Look for Seniors selling chances at area banks and football games. The afghan will be available then for viewing as well. Tickets are available for a $1 donation orsix for $5. Drawing for the afghan will be Friday, November 20, during the lunch hour at the Center.

Schwan’s will once again be showing their support for us by having a truckload fundraiser to benefit the Senior Center at the Teasley Drug store parking lot from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, November 20. The Center will receive a portion of the total dollar amount of items sold the day of the event. Be sure to stock up on your favorite items and show your support.

Thanksgiving is almost here. Are you too busy to bake? Let us make your hot rolls for you. The Centerwill be selling freshly baked hot rolls at $5 a dozen. Orders can be placed thru noon Tuesday, November 24, by calling 787-5950 Monday thru Friday during normal operating hours. Delivery is available to businesses within the city limits of Gravette. Hot rolls will be ready for pick up at the Center and delivery to area businesses on Wednesday, November 25.

SENIOR CENTER MENU November 23 - 27 Lunch

Monday: Salmon patty, Great Northern beans, Broccoli Normandy, cornbread, mandarin orange slices.

Tuesday: Chicken a la king, mashed potatoes, seasoned greens, biscuit, peanut butter pie.

Wednesday: Beef pepper steak, macaroni & cheese, okra & tomatoes, wheat bread, tropical fruit, cookie.

Thurs. & Fri.: Closed, Thanksgiving holiday.

Meals are subject to change. Meals at Center served with choice of 2% milk, buttermilk, coffee, tea or orange juice. Diabetic desserts are available.
