Blood drive set for Monday

— Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30, at the Church Of God in Christ Mennonite, 10770 N. Bloomfield Road, Gentry.

Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and presenting the required identification.

GENTRY - Lunch menus at the Gentry Senior Activity Center for next week are:

Nov. 30 - Shepherd’s pie, pinto beans, seasoned spinach, and a lemon bar;

Dec. 1 - Spaghetti and meat sauce, green peas, tossed salad with dressing, French bread, and hot spiced apples;

Dec. 2 - Pork roast with gravy, mashed potatoes, fried yellow squash, dinner roll, and fruit cobbler;

Dec. 3 - Beef pepper steak, macaroni and cheese, brussels sprouts, tropical fruit, wheat bread, and a chocolate chip cookie;

Dec. 4 - Chicken enchilada bake with salsa, pinto beans, carrot and celery sticks, bread, and lemon pudding.

Highfill club meets

HIGHFILL - The Highfill Extension Homemaker Club met Nov. 16, with 14 members present. Each member brought paper napkins for the Gentry Headstart pre-school.

Sue Etris showed members the crafts she taught. Mary Ellen McDowell made a presentation about “Sharing Your Family Legacy” and explained how to research family history via the Internet. Death certificates can reveal important family medical history, she said. McDowell showed documents displayed in an attractive album to portray an interesting family history.

The December meeting will be held Dec. 4 at the Cave Springs Church of Christ and will include county members.

The January meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on the 18th at 1221 E. Main Street in Gentry.
