— Doyle Meloy Barnett

Doyle Meloy Barnett, 92, died Nov. 3, 2009, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Walla Walla, Wash.

He was born March 18, 1917, in Elba, Ark., to George and Ida Lowrance Barnett.

He graduated from Gentry High School in 1934. In 1939, he graduated from Southwestern Junior College in Keene, Texas.

On June 13, 1940, he married Paulene Moddrell in Oklahoma City, Okla.

He was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in College Place, Wash.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ervie Barnett; and two sisters, Iva Lee Summers and Dora Stevenson.

He is survived by his wife of College Place; a daughter, Lois and husband Bimin Chan of Damascus, Ore.; two sisters, Geneva Taylor of Rocklin, Calif., and Jeanette Pettey of Siloam Springs; a brother, Ray Barnett of Siloam Springs; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Nov. 14,2009, at Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in College Place with Steve Walikonis officiating.

Gary W. Benton

Gary W. Benton, 62, of Shoreview, Minn., formerly of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 18, 2009.

He was a former Marine and owner of Ova-Easy Egg Ranch in Colcord.

He is survived by his wife, Debora Scott;

children, Rebecca and Alan Blake, Jesse and Molly Benton, Benjamin and Angie Benton and Lindsay Scott; seven grandchildren; and siblings, Delores and Glenn Gummert and Lyle “Bud” and Ann Benton.

Funeral services were held Nov. 21, 2009, at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home in Shoreview.
