Jolly Good Times Club Makes Plans For Christmas Event

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

— The monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with four members and one guest, Charlie Griffin, present.

President Jeanne Hubbard led the pledge of allegiance to the U.S. flag and the song, “Over the River and Through the Wood”. Her devotion was a prayer of thanks.

Mary Griffin answered roll call by reading a few riddles, Susan Holland read a poem, “What is Thanksgiving?”, Betty Howard read a joke answering the question, “Do you know anyone who is perfect?” and Jeanne showed each member a collection of pictures called “the grump test”.

Betty read the minutes of the October meeting and they were approved as read. Mary gave the treasurer’s report.

Members voted to give $50 to the Senior Center for the Meals on Wheels program and $100 to Care and Share for Christmas food baskets.

Members voted to change the date of the next meeting to Friday, December 18, and join in the Senior Center’s Christmas dinner. Susan will give the program.

Mary gave the November program on reusing food jars for beverage glasses.

Two other members, Chia Greer and Eda Montag, joined the group for the Thanksgiving dinner.

Quilters Will Meet, Make Ornaments This Saturday
