Nations Veterans Are Honored At Middle School Assembly

— On Wednesday, November 11, students, faculty and parents of Gravette Middle School held an assembly to honor our nation’s heroes on Veteran’s Day.

The proceedings were conducted by members of the Builders Club and their sponsor, Mrs. Morris.

Colors were posted by Boy Scouts Russell Sharp, Kit Kane and Ty Graves. Megan McAfee led the audience in the pledge of allegiance and the band played the National Anthem and another patriotic melody.

Hailey Kara introduced our guest speaker, retired Lt. Col. Bob Grass of the United States Marine Corps, who is now a teacher here at the Middle School. He spoke of the meaning of Veterans Day and reminded the students about the importance of honoring our flag.

Patriot’s Pen awards were presented to Lindsee Labrecque and Ryan Smith by Lorna Sterrett and Marilyn Block from the Bella Vista VFW.

Jayla Brown recognized and honored veterans who were present and remembered those who are currently serving our country.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and plan to continue to honor our veterans as we go through our year.
