JGT Club Members Discuss Immigration

— The regular monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held September 23 at the Senior Activity Center with six members present.

President Jeanne Hubbard led the singing of “You’re a Grand Old Flag” and “September Song” and gave the devotion, “Hear Our Prayer” with responses from the members.

Roll call was answered by Chia, Mary - reading on “Weekly Workout”, Susan - “Build Relations With Frequent Deposits”, Betty- joke about a fellow in a car crash, Jeanne - joke about atheist chased by a bearand Eda - joke about burial service.

Secretary Betty Howard red the minutes of the August meeting and they were approved as read.

Treasurer Mary Griffin gave the financial report.

Members discussed illegal immigration and Chia Greer gave the program on meditation, playing a tape on the Dalai Lama’s practice of “calm abiding”.

Singing of the doxology preceded the potluck meal of barbecued ribs, baked beans, pea salad, breads and spreads, bundt cake and pie.
