Poultry seminar planned

— Poultry growers in northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas are invited to attend a special financial seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Gentry Public Library, 105 East Main Street.

The program is entitled “How to Improve Cash Flow on Your Poultry Operation.”

Special speakers will include Linda Nelson of the Small Business Administration and Bill Roberson of Farm Credit. Nelson will tell growers of low-interest and no-interest loans available for growing operations. Roberson will talk about re-financing options, cash flow, property appraisals and other financial issues. Both speakers will field questions.

This program is being sponsored by Poultry Partners, Inc., Winrock International, and the USDA.

The programs is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to last about 2 1/2 hours, including dinner.

A free dinner will be served. Those planning to attend are asked to call Bev Saunders at 918-326-0325 (and leave a message) so a head count for the meal can be obtained.

To get to the Gentry Public Library from Arkansas Highway 59, turn west on Main Street (at the Gentry Bank) and go about three blocks. The large two-story brick building on the south side of the road is the new library. Those coming from the west on Arkansas Highway 12, should turn off on Gentry’s Main Street, by the E-Z Mart and Post Office, and continue east to the stop sign. The library will be on the right, across from Gentry’s city hall.
