— Bomb Threat Causes Alarm At Schools At Gentry

Three juveniles were arrested recently in Gentry after threats of a bomb in that city’s school.

According to Gentry police three teenage boys dialed 911 at least three times threatening a bomb.

Through investigation and tips a cell phone was recovered and the arrests were made.

Rainfall Is Not A Record

Although a total of 4.97 inches of rainfall was recorded in Gravette last Friday, October 9, that was not a one-day record for Gravette, according to NOAA records.

The record 24-hour rainfall for one day in Gravette occurred January 8 of last year when 5.07 inches of precipitation was recorded.

AG Issues Advisory

On Posters

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel advises business owners that required business poster notices need not be purchased from companies. He indicated they need not be purchased at all since the posters are free from the Department of Labor. In some cases the notices can be hand made.

McDaniel said a list of where posters can be obtained at no cost can be secured by calling the Arkansas Dept. of Labor, 501-862-4500, or U. S. Dept. of Labor, 501-324-5292.

Legion Steak Dinner Planned By Bella Vista Legion Post

Bella Vista American Legion Post 341 will host a ranch style steak dinner Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Post, located at 1889 Bella Vista Way (intersection of Highway 71 and Kingsland Road.

The dinner, which will cost $10, includes steak, trimmings and coffee or tea and all proceeds are for the Legion building fund.
