— A large group of friends and family gathered at the Bertschy home last Sunday to help Leon celebrate his birthday.

I went to Bella Vista on Tuesday night and had supper with my grandson Skylar Carrier.

Skylar Carrier flew out of XNA on Wednesday for Seattle where he met up with the rest of his troop bound for Okinawa. Word has been received that they arrived there safely.

We’ve had a taste of winter this week but our area has still been lucky compared to some parts of the state. The electricity was only off for a couple of hours on Thursday evening.

I don’t know how much rain I did receive since my 6-inch gauge overflowed.

Sympathy is extended to Leon Carothers and family for the loss ofhis great-grandson Adrian Manrriquez on Saturday.

The Presley Family Reunion will be held next Saturday, October 17, at the Hiwasse Christian Church community room.

Those enjoying lunch with Mr. and Mrs.Ward Carrier on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Lamarise Carrier, Amy Brooks, little Trevor Ellicot and myself.

Bill Habermehl is recovering from eye surgery this week.

Eleanor Cox and daughter Amber escaped serious injury Friday evening when their car was hit over on 102. The car didn’t fare as well.

Dale Henry has been on the sick list this week.
