— A pickup truck and a Wal-Mart tractor-trailer rig had a head-on collision Thursday evening in Gentry.

Eddie Webb, 69, of Gentry was driving his 2005 Ford pickup eastbound on Arkansas Highway 12 and attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street near the Gentry E-Z Mart store and Post Office at about 7 p.m. when the collision occurred.

Webb failed to yield to a westbound Wal-Mart truck - a 2009 Freightliner pulling a loaded trailer - driven by Thomas Crissy, 42, of Evansville, according to Gentry Police.

Crissy was not injured in the accident. Webb was transported by ambulance to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville in serious condition, according to police. His current condition was not available.

Further details of the accident are still under investigation by the Gentry police.
