Gentry Obituaries

Alice Lorena “Babe” Hester, 100, of Gentry, died Oct. 21, 2009, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab.

She was born to Elmer Chanley and Alice Klaus Chanley on Sept. 21, 1909, in Disney, Okla. She lived most of her life in Delaware County, Okla. She and her husband Carmel “Bus” Hester were active in the First AA chapter in northwest Arkansas, and she also started the first ALANON chapter in Benton County. She worked alongside her husband as coowners of Hester Monument Company of Bentonville. She was a member of the Gentry United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a sister, Pearl Finley, of Siloam Springs, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral servicers were Oct. 26 at the Gentry United Methodist Church, with Jim Whisenant and Charles Ashcraft officiating. Burial followed at Ralston Cemetery, Grove, Okla.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Bonnie L. Graves McDaniel

Bonnie L. Graves McDaniel, 87, died Oct. 20, 2009, at Tulsa, Okla.

She was born Feb. 14, 1922, near Long, Okla., to Isaac and Rosa Howell. She was married to Ray Graves from 1939 until his death in 1978. She later married Don McDaniel. She retired from her job as chief deputy county clerk of Tulsa County after 31 years and moved to Dawn Hill Country Club in Siloam Springs in 1981.

She was preceded in death by a son, Russell; and both husbands.

She is survived by four sons, Rex and Judy of Tulsa, Mike and Barbara of Tulsa, Larry and Jerry of Mexico; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Oct. 27 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Floral Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James Monroe Reneau

James Monroe Reneau, 81, of Jay, Okla., died Oct. 22, 2009, at Grove Integris Hospital in Grove, Okla.

He was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas, to Levest and Clara Giles Reneau. He was a farmer and lived in the Maysville area for the past 16 years. He married Moira Thornhill in Amarillo on May 5, 1949. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, James Reneau; and a brother, Buddie Reneau.

He is survived by three daughters, Clara Beaty and husband Wesley and Sheila Hartley, all of Jay, and Madeleine Lewis of Decatur; a sister, Ermastein Burnette of Amarillo; two brothers, Russell Reneau and wife Jean of Amarillo, and Robert Reneau and wife Sonya of North Richland, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services were Oct. 27 at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, with Tim Estes officiating.

Patricia Ann “Annie” Robertson

Patricia Ann “Annie” Robertson, 34, of Siloam Springs, died Oct. 16, 2009, at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

She was born Jan. 11, 1975, in Moberly, Mo., to Hank and Judy Liles Adkins.

She lived most of her life in Siloam Springs. She helped with the Pathfinder’s Club in Gentry and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her father and wife Robin of Springdale; three daughters, Chelsea Adkins, Myrcadies Adkins, and Lyrick Robertson, all of the home; and a son, Bodhi Robertson of the home.

Memorial services were held Oct. 24 at the Seventhday Adventist Church in Siloam Springs.

Clayton Danial Taylor, Sr.

Clayton Danial Taylor, Sr., 43, of Sulphur Springs, died Oct. 21, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

He was born Aug. 23, 1966, in Oahu, Hawaii, to Jack Taylor and Gladys Rotrammel Taylor. He was a 14-year Navy veteran and served in Desert Storm. He worked for Peterson Industries / Simmons for 13 years, primarily as a dispatcher. He married Ronda Johnson in Bentonville on May 5, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Taylor; one brother, Bill Cordeiro; and one sister-in-law, Dorcas Cordeiro.

Survivors include his wife Ronda of the home; five daughters, Casey Taylor, Nyle Taylor, Jillia Taylor, Billi Rhea Taylor and Victoria Johnson; three sons, C.J. Taylor, Sawyer Johnson, and Brooks Johnson; one grandchild; his mother Gladys Rotrammel Taylor of Gravette; two brothers, Mike Cordeiro and wife Anita of Gravette, and James Taylor and wife Sheila of Westville, Okla.; one sister, Jill Baldwin and husband Gerald of Eufaula, Okla.

Funeral services were Oct. 27 at the Church of Christ, Gravette, with Glen Whitman officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

BIRTHS Gracie Mae Woods

Zach and Alicia Woods of Watts, Okla., announce the birth of a daughter, Gracie Mae Woods, on Oct. 8, 2009, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark.

She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Bob Baer of Cincinnati, Ark., David and Barb McNair of Colcord, Okla., and Terry and Michelle Woods of Jay, Okla.

Great-grandparents are Frances Baer of Cincinnati, Sue Jenks of Colcord, J.A. and Polly Woods of Jay, Jim and Jackie Woods of Wagoner, Okla., and Raymond Barnhart of Jay.
