— There are two events coming up this weekend. Saturday, Oct. 31, is Halloween. If you are out and about that evening, watch out for the “little goblins”. And on Sunday, Nov. 1, Daylight Saving Time ends. Fall back one hour.

The Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club will hold a Haunted House on Galyean Stables Road in Hiwasse on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. This is a fundraiser for the club.

A group of ladies enjoyed a Pampered Chef party at the home of Amy Brooks on Monday evening. We all enjoyed a fun time and good eats.

Sympathy is extended to the Ronnie Johnson family. Ronnie and his brother David formerly lived in Hiwasse. In fact we purchased the place where I now live from them.

Those having lunch with me on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, GabeCarrier, DaleLynn Carrier, Lamarise Carrier and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks.

Marlo Hamilton spent a couple of days with “home folks”. She returned to her home in St. Louis on Sunday.

Geneva Hamilton is one of our sick ones at this time. Get better soon.

Karen Burns went to Tulsa on Sunday to meet a girlfriend she hadn’t seen in 10 years. I’m sure they had a lot of catching up to do.

Lytle Carlton’s cousin from Louisiana visited with him briefly on Sunday.

Earl and Norma Holloway were able to be at church on Sunday although they are both still having some problems from the serious automobile accident they suffered some time ago.

Sam Spear was able to be back at church on Sunday.

October 28, 1886, the Statue of Liberty was dedicated.
