— Vern and Gloria Laughlin spent the weekend of October 18 in Carrollton, TX, with daughter Kasey States and family. They went to karate lesson with Tasha and Chloe Friday night. Saturday was Chloe’s seventh birthday party. After the party Kasey, William, Tasha, Chloe, Vern and Gloria, along with William’s brother and sisterin-law, Walter and Michelle, went to the Texas State Fair for a few hours.

Vern and Gloria enjoyed thetimespentwithfamilybut it was good to get home.

Austyn McVay got to spend the night of Friday, October 16, with her Mom-Mom (me). We had a great time getting to know one another - again.

Mt. Pleasant had Care and Share duties October 13-17. As usual we worked hard but had a great time doing it.

Saturday, October 24, Mt. Pleasant did the“Walk for the World”. Those walking were Margaret Martin, Cathleen Spears, Brother Ernest Lastovica, Gaylene Hall, Darleneand Louise McVay and Linda Sanders.We walked 5.5 miles for the work of the Lord. After our walk and a brief rest the ladies of the church did a fall clean-up at the church. Those cleaning were Becky Denver, Betty Pollreis, Cathleen Spears, Margaret Martin, Gaylene Hall, Louise and Darlene McVay and Linda Sanders.

The men of the church took advantage of the good weather and began forming a handicap access ramp at the back door of the church. Those working were Howard Spears, John Philliber, Butch Hall and Brother Ernest Lastovica.

Then on Saturday evening we had our annual hay ride and wiener roast. We had a large crowd and a great time. The weather was perfect for a hay ride.

To all the members of Mt. Pleasant who participated in the walk, clean-up and construction at church “Thank You” for a job well done.
