New Gravette Water Bill Information Released; Will Not Be Used Until November Billing Date

— Gravette water customers will soon be receiving their monthly statements in a new format, according to Mayor Bill Howard.

The new system will not go into effect until November, the Mayor added. Thismonth’s bills will be printed on the city’s “red disconnect cards” in order to use up the stock on hand, he explained.

The new system will use a letter-size sheet of paper and will be mailed in a business-size envelope. The statement will include all the usual pertinent information and will also include space for city announcements.

The mailing will include a return addressed envelope which may be used topay the monthly bill.

The City Council recently agreed to the new system which will be operated by Mailco, a Fayetteville firm.

The new system is expected to save the city money, the Council wastold, and will provide a way of communicating with customers with space for announcements, etc.

The important thing to remember, the Mayor emphasized, is the October bills will be printed onred “disconnect” cards to use up old cards. They are NOT disconnect notices, he emphasized, but that type card will be sent later to persons who fail to pay their October bills on the due date.
