Postmaster Urges Drivers To Use Care To Prevent Accidents With Postal Vehicles

— Gravette postmaster Gerald Garner reports the U. S. Postal Service is concerned about a recurring problem of postal patrons hitting postal vehicles.

“Customers are backing out of their driveways and hitting postal vehicles that are delivering the mail,” Garner said. “Postal employees continually receive training and talks about all aspects of safety.”

The Postmaster said a local postal vehicle was involved in an accident just recently. No one was injured.

“We encourage our customers to reverse slowly from their driveway and remember to look over both shoulders and continually check all around,” Garner said. “Following these suggestions will help you avoid both vehicle and pedestrian accidents.”
