GENTRY GENTRY - GentryJunior High had its first football game Tuesday and beat Decatur 26-14.
The Pioneers got on the board first with a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown by Clay Norman. Tucker Willett ran in the two-point conversion.
In the second quarter, Colby Bryant caught a 13-yard touchdown pass. Again, in the third quarter, Tucker Willett scored on a 32-yard run. Bryant found the endzone once again and scored on a 36-yard run.
"I thought we executed well on offense," said Gentry coach Marty Edmiston. "Decatur did a good job keeping the ball out of our hands. They have some big kids who fought hard to the end."
Gentry's junior high team plays again at home Thursday against Charleston.
