Arletta Wallace Is Awarded PhD Degree

— Arletta S. Wallace of Gravette, above, was the recent recipient of her Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Capella University.

Her Ph.D. in Human Services with Specialization in Health Services Administration was awarded at the commencement held on the school campus in Minneapolis, MN, August 8.

Wallace, who was Social Services Director at the former Gravette Medical Center Hospital, was most recently affiliated with Heritage Park in Rogers.

She and her husband, Kelley, have made their home in Gravette for many years.

Dr. Wallace's thesis, "The Lived Experience of Dignity and Independence: A Phenomonological Study of Arkansas Assisted Living", was published in 2008.

The copywrited work deals with Wallace's extensive research as well as drawing from personal experiences working with persons in the field of assisted living.

Dr. Wallace and her husband attended the ceremonies where Christopher Cassier, ScD, MPH, president of the university, conferred degrees on more than 200 Ph.D. candidates.

The university, founded in 1993, offers Masters and Doctorate degrees in the fields of Philosophy, Psychology, Human Services, Education, Business and Technology as well as undergraduate degrees in various fields.
