SILOAM SPRINGS — An e-mail news release sent by the U.S. military said Siloam Springs resident Darren Lee had been "mobilized overseas to a forwarding base in support of Operation Enduring Freedom."
The only problem is that Lee is not leaving overseas and is quite happy at his local business, Lee Chiropractic.
Rich Laments with Joint Hometown News Service in San Antonio, Texas, said his department sends out press releases to newspapers after receiving information directly from the soldier.
In this case, Lee came back from the Middle East in June to Ft. Dix, N.J., and his paperwork was somehow mislabeled when he processed back into the United States.
Instead of documenting his return, it inaccurately announced his departure - again.
As a result, the announcement of Lee's deployment was in error in the Sept. 9 edition.
"I'm not leaving town," Lee said about the mix-up.
"I'm still in business."
