— Three members of the Gentry FFA Chapter went to the Arkansas Leadership Conference at Camp Couchdale in Hot Springs during July.

Britni Fullerton, Cassidy Brown and Brittany Coffee went, not knowing what to expect, but came back with new leadership skills to bring home and apply to their local FFA chapter.

Over the course of the week-long camp, the Gentry FFA members participated in several activities with various groups and met new people, helping them to come out of our their shells and become better leaders, whether that be on the volleyball court, in the band room or at monthly FFA meetings.

Students at the camp were taught to stand up and stand out, developing a plan and taking action. They were also encouraged to give back to their community and have, since the camp, participated in two community service opportunities.

Fullerton, Brown and Coffee cleaned out the flower beds in front of the high school. Fullerton, Christian Sheppard, Breanna Robrahn and Derrick Brown cleaned a section of highway adopted by the FFA.

Fullerton, Coffee and Austin Duncan also went to a ropes course at JBU, where they learned leadership and team-building skills.
