— Breakdowns on two special teams plays allowed host Charleston to beat Gentry on Friday.

The Tigers extended their 13-7 half-time lead by returning the second-half kickoff for a score and later added a punt return in the 36-21 win.

Charleston's Ryan Mc-Donald returned the kickoff 85 yards to push the lead to 20-7. Later in the period, Michael Meador returned a punt 62 yards for a score.

Gentry's Justin Stewart scored on a 20-yard pass from Caleb Ramsey in the first quarter. Ramsey ran in a 3-yard score in the third quarter to get the Pioneers (1-1) within 34-14.

Robert Henderson's 57-yard fumble return late in the third quarter set the final score.

Ramsey finished the loss 12 of 28 for 166 yards. Stewart had five catches for 72 yards and Mario Orozco added five catches for 86 yards.

The Gentry junior high team finished with a 20-20 tie at home on Thursday night. Charleston tied the game with a touchdown and two-point conversion late in the game, leaving the Pioneers too little time to add any points to the scoreboard.
