Gravette Public Library Sets Grand Reopening

— Saturday, September 26, will be a "black and white and red all over" day for the Gravette Public Library. The library, whichhas beenclosed for several weeks for remodeling, will hold its "Grand Reopening", said Kimberley Gibson, library manager.

Activities will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. There will be many interesting happenings. There will also be refreshments served during the day.

The library has been closed since Gravette Day in August. New windows have been installed. New ceiling tile has been installed in the youth andadult areas and both the interior and exterior have new paint jobs, as well as new shelving and other remodeling features. An inventory of books was also completed during the library shutdown.

Contractors for the work along with volunteers, both individuals and groups, and library commission members will be present for the occasion.

Local authors will be present with their books for sale. The library will also have a surplus book sale with lots of choices.

All normal services will resume on schedule starting September 28 with the library open from 9 to 5:30 Monday through Friday, until 8 p.m. Thursdays and from 9 until 2 on Saturday.

Delivery of books to the Senior Center will resume September 30 and the children's story time will begin Tuesday, October 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. and continue each Tuesday thereafter.

Gibson said everyone is invited to attend and see the redecorated library and enjoy the day. She also said volunteers are needed to help with upcoming programs and there will be a booth available for sign-ups.
