— Sunday was sure a nice September day. We are supposed to get more rain this week also.

Clara Owens' funeral services were at Colcord at 10 a.m. this Tuesday at the Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Maysville Cemetery. She was a former Maysville resident and was 99 years of age. She is survived by two sons, Burney Owens of Maysville and Kenneth of Siloam Springs. Sympathy is extended to the family.

I went to a birthday party last Sunday afternoon for great-grandson Billy Cook. It was held in the home of Julie Cook and Billy. Others attending were his grandparents Gary and Helen Chism, Katie Martin, Tyler and Katlynn, Tracy Warren and Skyler, Matt and Karla Ballmann and Jacob. Billy said it was his favorite kind of party. He got just what he wanted. Hope you have many more birthdays, Billy.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker, Les and Jean Martindale went to Rib Crib in Grove, OK, last Sunday to eat. They were celebrating Jack and Sylvia's 57th wedding anniversary. Hope you all have many more years together.

Christi Wardlaw of Little Rock, AR, spent some time with her mother, Orpha Wardlaw, over the Labor Day weekend.Christi visited church with her mother.

Family members gathered in the home of Marvin and Bert Ballmann on Saturday evening last week to celebrate Bert's birthday. Happy Birthday, Bert. Hope you have many more.

The Benton County Fair begins this week. Exhibits checked in on Monday and the fair began on Tuesday. Hope everyone does good on their exhibits.

My family had our reunion Sunday at the Maysville Community Building. We had a large crowd. There were lots of children and they were enjoying themselves. We had relatives from Colorado, California, Oklahoma, Missouri and, of course, from all towns in Benton County, some in Washington County and several from Harrison, AR. We had a great day with lots of food, picture taking, talking and a lot of good laughs together. It was a very enjoyable day.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker went to the home of Patti King at Lowell Sunday. They were celebrating Sammie Sappington's birthday. She lives in Fayetteville. She had a good birthday with good food including the German chocolate cake that her grandma Sylvia always makes her. Happy birthday, Sammie. Hope you have many more.
