DECATUR — The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, at the Bentonville Public Library.

Dr. Cary Anderson will speak on the Cherokee Trail of Tears, emphasizing theJohn Benge detachment. He will present his ideas and conclusions as to the route used by this party as they traveled east to west across central Benton County in early January 1839.

The public is welcome to attend meetings.
