New school board members win election

— The unofficial results of the 2009 school board elections in Benton County showed that Bentonville has a new female board member, Rogers has the same board members, and Pea Ridge will have a runoff.

According to information from the Benton County Election Commission, Becky Koonce won the Position 4 seat on the Bentonville School Board against John Leachman. The vote was 305 (82.81 percent) for Koonce and 66 votes(17.79 percent) for Leachman. Danny Alsup will retain his seat on the Gravette School Board after earning 273 votes (82.73 percent) against Carol Kauffman's 57 votes (17.27 percent).

David Williamson won the Position 6 seat on the Gentry School Board with 73 votes (68.87 percent) against Jeff Coy's 33 votes (31.13 percent).

Gentry also had a vote that restructured its millage without increasing it.

That proposal passed with 78 votes (70.91 percent) for the millage restructuring and 32 votes (29.09 percent) against the proposal.
