and 16 parent-chaperones spent a memorable spring break in Washington, D.C. The five-day education trip “was arranged by Mrs. Robin Morris who worked very hard to coordinate a very full and meaningful trip for the kids.” It was not a “Builder’s Club” trip as the caption (in last week’s News Herald) indicated. Mrs. Morris utilized the services of Educational Travel Consultants.

The educational trip included tours of the Arlington National Cemetery, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the United States Capitol, the Smithsonian American and Natural History Museums, the White House, the USS Barry, the U.S. Navy Memorial, Washington National Cathedral, FordsTheatre, the HolocaustMuseum, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, Mount Vernon and the U. S. Postal Museum.

Students also attended a ‘who done it’ show entitled “Shear Madness” at the Kennedy Center as well as an illuminated tour of the monuments and memorials erected in honor of our nation’s forefathers.

A special thanks to all who helped make the trip possible. Appreciation is also expressed to those who contributed to the various fundraising projects that were held to provide monetary support for the trip.
