— ◊ The mobile x-ray unit will be at the Gravette Fire Station April 21 and all persons over 16 will be x-rayed. This is the first visit by the Tuberculosis Association unit since 1958.

◊Government weather observer Glenn Justice wrote, “We have to go through blackberry winter and dogwood winter. Sometimes we have a couple more. Then we always look for some sort of Easter Spell.”

◊An ad read: “Enjoy Easter Dinner at the Steak House. Meet your friends for a delicious meal served in a pleasant atmosphere.”

◊Showing at The Ozark Theatre: “Journey to the Center of the Earth” starring Pat Boone and James Mason.

◊Real Pit Barbecue was available at Drive-in on Highway 59 near the hospital. It was owned by Jess Beckett.

◊Ideal Rexall Drug’s half page ad featured all types of Easter candy, hearing aid batteries, records, Westmoreland glass and lots of other items. Albert Dunagin, Graduate, Registered Pharmacist.

◊Gravette schools received $6,042 in state warrants from the State Department of Education which included minimum foundation aid and transportation aid.

A charcoal briquet plant at Gentry was heavily damaged by fire and a new oil well near Anderson was estimated to produce 25 to 150 barrels a day.
