Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club Has Had Busy Three Months

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

— Editor’s Note: What’s been going on with the Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club? Brooke Belts, club reporter, provides the following report on activities during the first three months of the year. Several pictures accompanied the report, including those in the paper.

In the month of January Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club went to the Salvation Army, located in Bentonville, to serve a meal to the homeless. We served lasagna and garlic bread and the people seemed to enjoy it.

On February 20 the Benton County 4-H Valentine Carnival was held at the Benton County Fairgrounds. There were contests, food, games and, of course, the annual crowning of the Benton County Valentine King and Queen.

Our queen, Heather Whitehead, was crowned the Benton County Valentine Queen of 2010! Congratulations, Heather!

We also had our regular March meeting. The songs were led by Hanna and Haley Graves. We discussed community service and fundraising projects. We also talked about County Fair nominations. The Cloverbuds made Easter wreaths led by McKenzie Brandon.

March 27 our club went to the Gravette Senior Center and cleaned up the flower beds. We plan to plant their gardens and flower beds in the month of April. We had approximately 25 people come and help us at the Senior Center.

In the same day we also stuffed about 2,000 Easter eggs for the Gravette Easter egg hunt at the Gravette hospital. Gravette Gleamers 4-H thanks you for your support.
