Groundbreaking Announced For New Library At Southwest City

— Groundbreaking for a new library in Southwest City, the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library, will be held Friday, May 7, at 10 a.m. at the library site.

Max Croxdale donated the lot on the east corner of Cherokee and Main in Southwest City to builda library in honor of his wife, Anne, who died in 2005. The Southwest City Library Foundation was established in 2007 for the purpose of building the library.

The structure will be 4,500 square feet and will resemble the formerSouthwest City High School building. It will have an 11,000 book capacity and will provide a community room for special events.
